Trip to New York

On November 24th, whenThanksgiving break began, I went New York for six days with three of my friends, who had graduated from the same high school in Vancouver, Canada with me and now living in Boston. This 24th was the busiest day I have ever had. Because my laptop was broken a few days ago, I had to make several trips between North Campus and Briarwood everyday, and I got lots of assignment from classes since Thanksgiving break is coming. My flight was around seven, so I should have gone to the airport by five; however, when I looked at the clock at the art building, it already passed four o'clock, and I did not pack up yet. At that time, I wanted to give up and stay in a cold dorm all by myself. Nevertheless, I could not easily give up because my friends I have been waiting for this trip to New York so long. The reason why is not only my first time to make a tip with my friends, but also I heard that there would be a huge sale on Thanksgiving day. Actually, I had visited New York recently, so the main purpose of this trip was shopping; buy some good warm clothes and shoes to survive from severe weather in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
After much meandering, I finally arrived at the airport around five thirty-I made it! However, the plane started departing an hour late because pilots were missing. I could not believe this happening, but what people at the entrance said was the pilots went somewhere and they could not find them. I was at loss for words, but tried to calm down for upcoming break.
Finally, I got to Laguadia airport in New York, and met my friends who were waiting there for an hour. I was really happy to see my Vancouver friends, but it could not last for long; I could not find my baggage. The employee said that I "might" be able to find my baggage tomorrow, so we decided to go to hotel to check-in. My first day in New York passed by in disorder.
On the second day, we went
out to start shopping. The weather was great; it was cloudy, but still, it was warmer than Ann Arbor. The street was bustling with lots of people and cars. We took a subway train and wondered around Soho street. There, I met my another high school friend who is the freshman at Parsons school of design. Since she was familiar to New York, I thought we could easily find most of the way we wanted to go; unfortunately, she had no sense of direction.
We enjoyed our shopping anyhow, and I finally got a call from the delivery service that my baggage will be delivered soon. Around eight, we returned to hotel, and received lost baggage. After a few hours, I could confirm my misfortune. Some valuable items in my baggage were missing, and there was no way to find my missing item back because the airport service had already closed for Thanksgiving d
ay and delivery company insisted that they do not have any responsibility on it. However, I was not able to express my uneasiness since we came here to enjoy our break not finding my missing items. Therefore, we went out again to enjoy the night in New York.
Around three a.m., there was not many people as we had expected, but the street was still bright with lightings from signboards. Near Times Square, the band was practicing marching through the street for the next day's Thanksgiving parade that we had seen it advertised on the TV screen on taxi. Therefore, we deci
ded to watch it for the next day. Nevertheless, misfortunes never come single. On the next day, I got sick and could not get out of the bed for a whole day.
For last two days, we concentrated on shopping
so we are not going to regret. Likewise, I spend five nights
busily and leaned valuable lessons; always be prepare and
thank to parents for helping me to enjoy trip at ease by
scheduling the trip.
